Catholic Vote Proves Decisive in Trump’s 2024 Victory

By Stephen Kokx

You can’t say Kamala Harris wasn’t warned. Not only did Donald Trump but so did Cardinal Dolan predict that if she skipped the Al Smith Dinner, she just might lose in a landslide.

And that’s exactly what happened.

The short end of it is that Black men and Hispanic voters turned out in record numbers for Trump, leaving Harris without a base of support. Not only that, Independents and white men broke in his favor by huge margins, confirming polling trends that emerged during the last week of the campaign.

Trump’s victory is difficult to quantify. Nothing like it has ever happened before in American politics. He lost (purportedly) his first re-election bid. Then, he was impeached — twice. After that, he was nearly thrown in jail and then almost assassinated. Richard Nixon, eat your heart out.

The Catholic vote proved to be decisive, in keeping with past elections. Exit polling from the Washington Post shows that Trump won Catholic voters 56-41%. Good for him. He courted us hard. Harris’ disastrous video message to the Al Smith Dinner left many with a bad taste in their mouth. She deserved to lose our support.

Aside from posting explicitly Catholic content on his social media accounts (he wished Our Lady “Happy Birthday” on September 8), Trump repeatedly brought up the FBI’s spying on Latin Mass churches on the campaign trail. His running mate JD Vance also wisely wrote an op-ed for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette two weeks before the election that recalled all the other ways Harris has targeted Catholics, most notably her attacking a judicial nominee in 2018 who belonged to the Knights of Columbus.

Catholics who sat out this election made a mistake. Multiple clergy, as well as lay writers, have pointed out that Catholic moral teaching holds that if there is a reasonable hope that a greater evil can be avoided by voting for a particular candidate, then that is what must be done. What is worse is that over 40% of Catholics actively supported and voted for the pro-abortion, pro-LGBTQ agenda candidate. While Trump won the Catholic vote decisively, the substantial number of Catholics who voted for Harris shows the massive failure of Catechesis in the Conciliar Church today.

The argument against Trump that some Trads seemed to make is that he is actually worse than Harris because he is a pro-vaccine trojan horse who is owned by Zionists. I’ve already published an essay for Catholic Family News laying out the reasons why I don’t think that’s the case. For those who don’t have the time to read that, at minimum his partnership with RFK Jr. and news that he told Benjamin Netanyahu earlier this year to end his Gaza war before Inauguration Day suggests he’s not owned by Big Pharma and that he’s not going to take marching orders from anyone on foreign policy. Of course, if he chooses globalist neocon Mike Pompeo as his Secretary of Defense things could go south real quick.

There are other policies Trump has said he supports as well, all of which would help the common good. Some of them include: keeping males out of female sports, stopping sex-change surgeries for minors, not filing lawsuits against Catholic schools that teach biblical morality, not directing intel communities to target religious Americans, removing Critical Race Theory and gender ideology from schools, ending the war in Ukraine, pursuing peace in the Middle East, and on and on.

The 2024 presidential race is the last piece of evidence that the 2020 election was stolen. Harris is on track to receive just over 66 million votes, which is what Hillary Clinton won 8 years ago. Trump is headed for 72 million, which is just under what he received in 2020. Biden allegedly received 81 million votes in that race. I’m no math expert, but a random 15 million vote spike seems to be a statistical impossibility, especially given the awful campaign that Biden ran back then.

I think Archbishop Viganò is correct in stating that Trump’s victory is a “formidable setback for the criminal plan of the New World Order.” He’s also right to thank God for “having prevented the United States and the Western world from definitively falling into the tentacles of the deep state and globalist tyranny.” I join the good Archbishop’s call for prayers so that over the next four years Trump will destroy the Deep State, defend innocent life, and bring America back to God as that is the only way she can truly be great again.
