St. Remigius

October 1, 2024

Dear Friends of Catholic Tradition,

October 1 is the feast of St. Remigius, the bishop of Reims who on Christmas Day 496 baptized Clovis I.  This act of bringing the faith to the King of the Franks forever changed French, European, and World History.  His act of conversion of the pagan king gave birth to the eldest daughter of the Church and made possible the lives of King St. Louis, St. John Vianney, and St. Therese of the Child Jesus (to name just a few).  Bringing the faith to the darkness of paganism has real long-term consequences.

That is why we are happy to announce we have launched our Premium Channel through a community on Locals.  As the world has changed and the way people find and consume information has changed, we have seen a steady decline in the traditional subscriptions to the print edition of this newspaper.  Yet, at the same time we have seen incredible growth in the numbers of people accessing our videos and podcasts.  We needed to do something to increase our use of these new means of communication to reach more and more people, the Clovises of our day, and encourage people to read the outstanding articles we assemble each month in the newspaper.  That is why officially on September 14, the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross we launched our channel on Locals, https://catholicfamilynews.locals.com/.  Viewers can become a supporter of our Locals community only costs $ 6 a month (less than the cost of a sandwich at a deli).  For $6 a month our supporters gain access to:

  • Exclusive video content from people such as Brian McCall, Christopher Ferrara, Murray Rundus, Fr. Michael Rodriguez, and others.  From day one of joining a library of content will be opened up for viewing.
  • An extended version of our Weekly News Roundup open only to Locals Supporters.
  • A Supporters only monthly live Q&A session with the opportunity for your question to be featured in this newspaper.
  • Access to CFN conference recordings (see elsewhere in this issue for information on our 2025 conference).
  • Free access through locals to an electronic version of this monthly newspaper.
  • A free paper copy of this newspaper mailed to your home (in the US or Canada), upon request.

With declining physical paper subscriptions, we need to turn the tens of thousands of video viewers into Locals Supporters for the future financial security of the CFN apostolate.  We need your help to make this effort a success.  Please join as a supporter (you can watch a how to sign up video tutorial on our YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PoCuY5gEqM4 under ‘Major Announcements for Catholic Family News’).  Please encourage everyone you know to join as well.  Without support St. Remigius would have not had the resources to evangelize the Franks and reach St. Remigius.  With your help—your prayers and your assistance in growing our Locals community—we can be the voice of St. Remigius in our time and work toward the conversion of our world for Christ the King.  I have never been more optimistic about the future of Catholic Family News to do its part in restoring all things in Christ.  Please join us in this effort to share the truth, goodness, and beauty of Catholic Tradition with the neo-pagan world.

In Christ the King,

Brian McCall
