Light Before Dawn for a Weary World

September 2020 Edition Now Available – Preview HERE

Dear Friends of Catholic Tradition,

This month brings the beautiful feast of the Nativity of the Mother of God (Sept. 8). This joyful event brought the world one step closer to redemption. As the prayer which traditionally follows the Salve Regina at Compline reminds us, God prepared the body and soul of the Blessed Mother to be a “worthy dwelling” for His Son. She is the pinnacle of creation. Both her body and soul were created perfect and immaculate. Nothing less would be fitting for the womb which would contain He Whom the entire world cannot contain. And it was her birth that manifested her perfection to her parents, Saints Anne and Joachim, as well as to the entire world. Her birth is second only to her Son’s in glory and in consequences for the fate of the world.

We should this day render to her the veneration that is her due. This is especially necessary since we live in a world that either insults or ignores this mighty Queen of Heaven. In these dark times in which evil men attempt to dominate both Church and State, we need Our Lady more than ever. If we turn to her, she cannot help but aid us. As she told Juan Diego, “Am I not your Mother?”

For all these reasons, Catholic Family News has always placed our apostolate under the patronage of Our Lady. She has guided and protected our little work for decades. We have confidence that she will watch over us in these difficult times.

As we have informed you in recent months, the societal chaos and totalitarian restrictions imposed by governments in which we operate have taken a toll on our apostolate. We have not been able to sell new subscriptions to our print edition since April. We have only just in the past few weeks been allowed into our offices to return phone calls and update our subscriber database. We hope this month to be able to begin selling print subscriptions again. All of this turmoil, combined with not being able to retrieve our U.S. mail, has put a great financial strain on our operations.

We humbly ask that you consider being an instrument of Our Lady’s care for us by buying subscriptions for your friends, family, or Latin Mass chapel. Alternatively, you can donate to our work through our website.

Notwithstanding these difficulties, we have not missed a month’s publication of the paper nor a weekly video news roundup on our YouTube channel. We hope that the information and analysis we bring you in video and text formats has been a consolation and aid to you throughout the onslaught of the past few months. As we move ever closer to election day in the United States, I believe we may face more surprises and disturbing challenges. Let us remain together in “one heart and one soul” (Acts 4:32) under the mantle of Our Lady!

Thank you for all of your support for our apostolate and I wish you and your families abundant graces in the months ahead.

In the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
