Earlier this week, House Speaker Mike Johnson, Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee-Sanders, and dozens of Congressional lawmakers visited the Holy Land. The trip was paid for by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.
Johnson recorded an embarrassing video at the fictitious “Wailing Wall,” claiming that Scripture demands that we “pray for the preservation” of Israel. He also spoke about the “hospitality” he and others received during their visit.
Mike Johnson delivers a speech at the Wailing Wall in Israel, later adding that the Bible tells Christians to always stand with Israel, a nation founded in 1948.

Curiously enough, Johnson failed to bring up the fact that Israeli cabinet member Itamar Ben-Gvir believes spitting on Christians is not a crime. He also didn’t note that the Catholic Church is the successor of the “Israel” mentioned in the Old Testament.
Sanders’ father, former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee—who currently serves as Trump’s ambassador to Israel—has also sung the country’s praises. He told The O’Reilly Update last month that his faith compels him to “bless Jews.”
“I can’t be Christian and not be completely connected to the Jewish people. God blesses those who bless Jews and curses those who curse Jews,” he alleged.

He's a true friend of the Jewish people.

Hmm. Blessed are the poor in spirit. Blessed are the pure of heart. And blessed are those who ship bullets and missiles to a pro-abortion country created by the Rothschilds in 1948? I’ll have to check my Bible on that one.
Willing Stooges to Cover Up a Genocide
Johnson and his colleagues’ trip was obviously a PR stunt intended to salvage Benjamin Netanyahu’s deteriorating image on the world stage, as he’s coming under fire for directing the starvation of Palestinian children in Gaza.

The visit was also designed to provide moral support for Netanyahu’s plan to annex Gaza, which he wants to do with help from the U.S.
Sadly, it seems he’ll get that support given Trump’s recent remark that it will be “pretty much up to Israel” to decide how the region looks going forward.
Occupying Gaza has long been the goal of the aforementioned Itamar Ben-Gvir, as well as current Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich. They are both now demanding that Gaza City be razed to the ground. Talk about diabolical.
Netanyahu’s office issued a press release touting the misleading comments he made to the U.S. delegation. Lawmakers—or should I say “collaborators”—from both political parties attended the event.
“The Prime Minister briefed the members of Congress on the war in the Gaza Strip and commented on the issue of the humanitarian assistance and the mendacious campaign being waged by Hamas against the State of Israel,” the statement read.

Growing Opposition to Netanyahu’s Crimes
While Netanyahu may still hold significant sway over Evangelicals and Boomer U.S. politicians, the atrocities being carried out by the Israeli military in his name have rightly provoked negative reactions across the globe.
The war crimes being committed in Gaza are starting to have political consequences, in other words, and they may spell doom not just for Netanyahu’s grip on power but for the future of the GOP as well.
Recent polling indicates that American voters under 40 are turning their backs on Israel—likely for good. Axios has described the situation as a “generational revolt.”
Canada, France, and the UK have also announced support for Palestinian statehood, signaling additional discontent.
Furthermore, a growing number of U.S. lawmakers are speaking out. Just days ago, the U.S. Senate voted to block the sale of weapons to Israel. Bernie Sanders introduced the resolution. Meanwhile, Marjorie Taylor Greene became the first Congressional Republican to describe the one-sided conflict as a genocide. One hopes that more conservatives will do the same.
Yesterday I spoke to a Christian pastor from Gaza.

There are children starving.
And Christians have been killed and injured, as well as many innocent people.
If you are an American Christian, this should be absolutely unacceptable to you.
Just as we said that Hamas killing…
Mainstream media outlets and long-time Trump supporters are frustrated as well. A recent headline from The Washington Post reads, “Even Israel’s defenders are finally admitting the truth.” A Politico essay published on July 29 was similarly titled, “MAGA is turning on Israel over Gaza, but Trump is unmoved.”
Steve Bannon has been one of the leading critics of the president’s fealty to Israel. He told Politico that “it seems that for the under-30-year-old MAGA base, Israel has almost no support, and Netanyahu’s attempt to save himself politically by dragging America in deeper to another Middle East war has turned off a large swath of older MAGA diehards.”
Bannon is right. He was also right to publish a social media post with the words “Israel first” above a photograph of Trump greeting Netanyahu at the White House. Trump had better check to see if he left any blood on his hands after that embrace.

Will Zionist Over-Reach Lead to the GOP, Israel’s Downfall?
The straw that may have broken the back of MAGA loyalists was the administration’s decision to threaten cities and states engaging in boycotts of Israel and Israeli companies with federal relief dollars.
Ok after speaking w/ folks here's whats going on: An original guidance from DHS explicitly stated that federal disaster funding was barred from states that allowed boycott of Israel. The WH changed this explicit language after widespread outcry BUT the DHS tweet makes it clear… pic.twitter.com/nSaEpdTuEZ

While the details of the administration’s announcement seem to be a bit murky (it looks as if it has reversed the decision), the fact that it entertained the measure in the first place has infuriated America Firsters. Greene told the Daily Mail this week that she is at her wits’ end.
“I don’t know if the Republican Party is leaving me, or if I’m kind of not relating to [the] Republican Party as much anymore,” she said. “I think the Republican Party has turned its back on America First and the workers and just regular Americans.”
Ron Paul similarly asked in a video on social media:
“Why was America First abandoned so quickly” by President Trump?

Israel’s relentless campaign to censure, control, and manipulate not just the Republican Party and Donald Trump but the American people has reached a boiling point. It is safe to say that the political right is rapidly approaching a pivotal moment. Will the grassroots be successful in emancipating the GOP from the tentacles of the Zionist lobby? Will the establishment swat down those calls and double down on its support for Israel? We will know soon enough, as the midterms are right around the corner.
