Precious Blood of Christ, Cleanse and Renew Us

July 2020 Edition Now Available – Preview HERE

Following the month in which we celebrate the Body of Christ in the Feast of Corpus Christi, the Church in her wisdom has us honor His Most Precious Blood (July 1). This is the Blood that purchased our redemption and which washed our souls clean in Baptism. It is the Blood with which the priest sprinkles our souls when giving absolution in Confession. One drop of this Blood is of infinite value and could have redeemed the human race, yet Our Savior chose to pour out every last drop for our edification.

This year has brought us many sacrifices and hardships in its first half. For many, the Mass and sacraments were removed from them. Many could not participate in the great ceremonies of the Sacred Triduum. So often, the sacrifices that God chooses for us are better than the penance we would choose for ourselves. The second half of this year may bring unexpected and more difficult sacrifices. Our response must be to unite our sufferings to the Most Precious Blood of Christ, “which speaketh better than that of Abel” (Heb. 12:24).

Catholic Family News has not been spared the effects of this extraordinary year. We have struggled to keep the apostolate functioning. We have not been able to sell paper subscriptions since April. We have been locked out of our offices. We have experienced delays and obstructions in mailing the paper. We have only been able to continue selling “E-Edition Only” subscriptions via our website. All of these strains have stretched our slim resources. And yet, through our weekly videos, website postings, and monthly paper, we have tried to keep a lifeline of solid Catholic information and news flowing into your home.

We continue to beg your patience if you are experiencing delays or cannot reach us to update your subscription. We also humbly ask for your support. Until we can reestablish sales of paper subscriptions, please subscribe to our E-Edition for yourself or a friend. Plese consider making a donation via our website. We are trying to make much of our content and videos available for free. With so many people staying home, we have seen an increase in those seeking information via our online apostolate. We are reliant upon the support of you, our faithful subscribers, to make all this possible in such extraordinary times.

Even though we all are somewhat separated during these measures, we can be united in the Blood of Christ. May this great feast bring you peace of soul and the virtue to humbly accept God’s will for our times.

With my very best wishes of gratitude and prayers,

Brian M. McCall, Editor-in-Chief
