- In response to Cardinal Re’s open letter, Archbishop Carlo Maria
  Viganò released an open letter to Cardinal Zen expressing his great “esteem and veneration” for the Chinese prelate and denouncing Cardinal Re’s “ignominious and shameful letter”.
