Prayers are requested for the health of Bishop Bernard Tissier de Mallerais. His Excellency is undergoing surgery on his arm/hand today, April 8, 2019, as a result of an infection from a bug bite. Born in September 1945 in France, Bishop Tissier de Mallerais was one of the earliest seminarians taught by Archbishop Lefebvre after the Council. He is the author of the comprehensive biography of Archbishop Lefebvre (currently being excerpted in each month’s edition of Catholic Family News) and was the keynote speaker for the CFN conference in 2018. Hundreds of priests have received sacred orders from his hands and thousands of Catholics have received the sacrament of confirmation from the hands currently in the hands of the doctors. The ordination of the US seminarians to the minor orders of porter and lector and the major orders of Subdeacon and Deacon that were scheduled for April 5 and 6 had to be postponed after His Excellency was admitted to the hospital last week as a result of the infection not responding to antibiotics. For more information see the announcement of the delayed ordinations.
Please remember in your payers His Excellency, his doctors, and the seminarians who await his recovery to receive the orders to which the Church has called them.
