One Year Anniversary of the Death of Father Gruner

“If thy eye be single, thy whole body shall be lightsome.” –Matthew, 6:22

A year ago, Father Nicholas Gruner left his body and went to his judgment, as we all must sooner or later. We who knew him are confident that he was received into the arms of the Blessed Mother he served so faithfully and tirelessly all of his priestly life. Yet, Father asked that we should all pray for his soul after his death, so we should honor that request.

All of us who work at Our Lady’s Apostolate attended a special Mass on his death anniversary, offered for the repose of his soul. We also prayed the Rosary for that same intention and processed with the statue of Our Lady of Fatima that travelled with Father throughout the world, wherever he took Our Lady’s Message.

Father and his work were one. There was no compartmentalization in his life, as there is in the lives of most men, who have their jobs, their family life, their recreations, etc. Father had one vision, one purpose, one thought on his mind when he went to bed at night and when he woke in the morning: how to serve Our Lady and make Her Message known, loved and obeyed.

Those of us who knew Father , or who worked with him at the apostolate, still marvel at his constant dedication and single-mindedness. He poured his heart and soul into the apostolate and we feel his presence daily in all that we do.

Father is still with us, directing us with his love and vision. We ask that all who knew Father and all who support Our Lady’s Apostolate remember him on the anniversary of his death by praying for his soul and for the cause he lived for: the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
